The computer manufacturer told Computerworld that in the first half of 2011, it will begin selling two or three new Android tablets in the 7- to 10-inch range. While Acer didn’t specify the price or Android version, the company did say something that’s sure to get your Android-loving heart racing: the tablets will be "faster than laptops with Windows operating systems," and will use a quad-core Intel Sandy Bridge processor

I'm not super held up on having a 36 hours battery life on a tablet, but this seems . . . ambitious.

I don't see how a tablet like that is possible without being huge. Battery life would be horrible.

Yeah, it'd be powerful but the first question that popped up in my mind was battery life and size. We all know one of the reasons for Apple tablets and phones having good battery life is due to the relatively large battery they cram in. And that's on a device using parts designed to be energy efficient.

And looking at the costs for SB CPU's...those tablets are going to be in the $700+ range at a minimum.

Even if they take the 'lowest' ULV SB chip, and downclock it, I doubt we'll see much more than a comparable notebook PC. Something in the 3-5 hour range, with no WiFi/3G. Not bad, but even my Chinese Wits tablet can do better than that.
