Hi.
I bought this cheap acer as stated on the headline. It is 13 grade haswell with hd440 iGPU. It has only 4GB of DDR3L ram and 500GB of regular slow HDD. So I opened it to check what's inside and maybe there are upgrade options for me.
On the righ upper coner there seem to be mSATA port and right next to RAM there seem to be so-dimm slot... correct? On the memory soldered to the motherboard it says SK Hynix H5TC4G63AFR, PBA, 425A. This is the product page from sk hynix site if I'm correct: https://www.skhynix.com/products/computing/view.jsp?info.ramKind=19&info.serialNo=H5TC4G63AFR
So my questions are:
1. If I put memory stick to that so-dimm slot, will it make the memory to run in dual channel mode? Is there such thing on modern haswell builds? I'm wondering this because, obviously dual channel memory would double the memory bandwidth and there fore make the iGPU run even even faster and givin me more FPS in games.
2. I'm not sure but according to some googled info DDR3L 1600MHz so-dimm should be compatible with this laptop? For example this would do the job http://www.amazon.de/Crucial-CT51264BF160B-Arbeitsspeicher-204-polig-DDR3-RAM/dp/B005LDLV6S/ref=sr_1_24?s=computers&ie=UTF8&qid=1433411371&sr=1-24&keywords=4gb+ddr3l?
3. There is msata port also, so is ok to just plug in msata based SSD and the BIOS should recognize it? Or is it possible it's disabled or I have use some jumpers something like that?
