Acer Aspire screen broke now laptop doesn't boot up?

Hi hope someone can help, my acer aspire laptop screen was broken a few months ago so i just used it via a hdmi cable to the tv .. it worked fine for a few months then all of a sudden it stopped working now it wont turn on and theres no light behind the screen and it makes a weird noise like its reading something? any ideas? thanks .
