we had a bunch of acers at work.. half of them had monitor defects... there was a big green stripe down the screen...

not as good a deal cause it's not a dual core nor does it have a dvd burner

I just got this laptop and it is awesome. I am getting rid of my Dell 6000 2.13GHz lappy. My only complaint with Vista is that it takes a lot longer to boot up/load the OS.

I got this same notebook about a month ago. The first one was defective (randomly shut off) but the 2nd one has been on for weeks with no issues. beautiful, bright screen, great performance. only negative is 2 x 512mb ram sticks, makes it slightly more inconvenient to do the 2GB upgrade...
