Acer Aspire 5100 startup issue

I have a aspire 5100 laptop and for some reason when I turn it on I get no display but it flickers. I can do this 10 times in a row and it still won't display anything. But if on the first try I leave it on for about a minute(long enough to warm up some) then turn it off it turns on like normal most of the time.

Could this be a inverter problem? Any idea's/suggestions?
