Acer 5920g sudden hdd problem

It really depends on what is wrong with the HD, it sounds like it died, but hard to tell with that noise.

The only way you can recover is set it up in another machine, and see what happens there. If the drive isn't seen in BIOS, your SOL, and you need to use a recovery service to save your files (if possible), and yeah, that is really expensive.
