Acer 5100 not waking up from sleep correctly

I have a laptop using vista, when it goes into sleep mode, and you wake it, you get a blacking flickering screen, looks like something is loose, but it only happens if you put the computer to sleep. It happens even if you don't close the lid, so I think it's a software issue.

I have updated the video driver, it was not doing this with xp. I am fixing the computer and had installed xp, but they wanted vista instead, so I am assuming some sort of driver issue though I have tried all the drivers from the acer site and hit a dead end.
 
Go online to the manufactures web site and make sure to get all the correct Vista drivers. If there is still an issue you may need to contact Acer dirrectly. There may be a known compatibility issue with the Laptop and Vista.
