This one comes with a 3-year warranty. I dunno about yours, but Acer has a good warranty program. Register your products using your serial number on their support site for even more details.

Only had 1 year on ours. 🙁

i only get 60 hz at max resolution also.. hurts the eyes a bit.

I'm used to 75 hz @1280x1024 on my 19 inch lcd

Your brain is playing tricks on you then. There is very little difference betwen 60 and 75hz on an LCD.

It's only got 16.2M native color support. It's a 6-bit panel. Won't look as good as 24M+ color 8-bit panels, but it has a fast response time, especially for such a big monitor. Still, it's going to look washed out compared to say, a Dell LCD (the UltraSharps use 8-bit panels). I'd not recommend this to someone who wants to watch movies or play games like Oblivion that have tremendous amounts of eye candy. Also, you need a kickass GPU to run this, as the resolution will pwn many graphics cards on the market right now.

It is huge, though. And the price! Oh, the price? Amazing price.

Its weird. I was getting terrible headaches after a few hours of playing WoW on it until last night. What i did was take some settings listed earlier in this thread and apply them (contrast, brightness, and RGB settings). Its now much easier on the eyes and i had no problems last night.

Also, switching to the DVI input fixed the black area on the screen issue i had.

I had the same issue with my dell when i first got it, so bright that looking at it felt like I was pouring sand into my eyeballs. Just lowering the brightness alone does the trick. Mine is at zero lol.

Despite advertising it on there front page I'm getting a "The product you requested is no longer available" error message. Can you guys still view/purchase this or is this deal dead?

Acer's site says this monitor supports 16.7M colors, which would be 8-bit right? Also, this review of the 22" Samsung says that it uses the same panel as this Acer and says it's 8-bit S-MVA. So can make any sense of that?

Edit: This translated site confirms it's the panel linked above, says it's 16.7M colors, but also says it's TN. So some sources say it's TN and some say MVA, however I found a thread at Hard that confirmed it was TN.

So nevermind. 😛

Weird, every place I've seen it on sale lists it at 16.2m colors, but the Aces site shows 16.7m. So who is right? Regardless, awesome monitor, loving it.

Nice. Now you just need a side for your case. 😛

I'm satisfied enough with the base. Pretty happy with it so far... enjoying the extra screen realestate.

Yeah, I just had it off because I was pulling my eVGA board for a new DFI Expert board...glad I did to!

🙂

I have some very slight back light bleeding, and since I'm waiting for my new gfx card, I'm on onboard VGA so so I'm getting some horizontal noise/slight flickering.

Other than that, this 22" has only made me want a bigger monitor!

EDIT: What's an economical setup from this 22"??? Would the Dell 24" be a noticeable difference?

i remember paying $398.00 for a 17 inch CRT at SAMS CLUB back in 1996..

CTX 17 inch monitor. that thing was the stuff back then
