I bought the Acer 1208A CD-R drive, because from what I read it would do everything I needed. But now it seems like it it wont read subchannel data.To make backup copies of my PSX games and some other software I will need it to read subchannel data.(Now this is just what I read,Im not even sure what it means.)Can someone tell me what I need to do to fix this?
Or maybe someone knows of a good website to get all the cd burning info I would need.

Im using CloneCD3.

Actually, that drives will WRITE subchannel data, it just won't READ subchannel data. Kind of weird, huh? I have the same drive. I am waiting on a Toshiba DVD-ROM for $75 that is supposed to be able to READ subchannel data and then I should be able to burn almost anything.

How much did you spend? I got mine over a month ago and I only paid $105 shipped. A pretty good deal if you ask me. Plus the drive will WRITE almost anything which can't be said for most drives in that price range.

I paid $110 at Staples.I just walked in and paid that much.

Are there any cheap cd roms that will read subchannel data?Im trying to decide if it will be worth it to get another drive just to read subchannel data.
