I don't drink much soda at all, but a lot of people say Coke in a glass bottle tastes better than plastic bottle! Is it true or just BS?

I've found it to be true the same way beer in a bottle tastes better than a can.

glass definitely tastes better. I wonder how many here even remember when glass bottles were the norm, rather than the exception?

Indeed! :D

Oh yeah, and I would agree with the glass over plastic statement. I don't know why it tastes better, it just does :)

The plastic gives everything a nasty taste. Water, coke, milk, everything. Bring on the glass.

Glass all the way. The taste of the plastic gets pulled from the bottle. Glass doesn't have that problem.

Most places with fountain Coke around here chintz on the syrup content. In my opinion, Coke in a glass bottle is second to none. :)

Hah! I remember my buddy drank so much Soda as a kid, he could pick Coke or Pepsi just by smelling them. The SOB didn't even need to taste test!

you know, now that i think about it. I like Pepsi in plastic better, Coke out of glass, and Dr.Pepper out of an aluminum can kicks both their asses.

YES glass bottle (name a carbonated beverage) ALWAYS tastes better than plastic bottle (same carbonated beverage).

It also seems to be much colder. I don't think it really is, but I think it *stays* colder longer.

It Definitely taste better in glass, I've been a Coca Cola drinker since I was just a little fellow and there is no doubt that coke in plastic and cans taste different, I've gotten used to the plastic and cans, but glass is always better.

I certainly remember. I'll give you a clue as to how long I've been drinking coca cola, when I first started drinking coke you could buy a 16 ounce glass bottle for like 15 cents.

Glass bottles taste MUCH better than fountain or cans. They sell for about $4.50 at Ralph's around here, not bad.

The fountain around here at Carl's and other fast food places usually mess up on the diluting, so Coke diluted really sucks. =P

I like Cokes in glass better . Back in the late 70's everyone in the neighborhood would give me their glass bottles and I would return them for the deposit money :) It seems that I read somewhere that plastic bottles have microscopic pores that would let oxygen in/out to kinda deaden the taste of drinks .
