Accountant salary survey information

The salary results look unrealistically high. For example, in gov't, there's probably 1 person in our office who makes over $70K and he has 20+ yrs experience.

I thought the salary information looked high as well.

In my experience, people tack on about 10-20% and/or include any bonus as salary. In other words, they lie.

I have 3 years experience and I make more than that...

But government workers 1) get less hours and 2) have unfairly high benefits packages. His all in compensation is probably close to the average, if not higher.
