"Account creation disabled" on SETI@home "classic".

If you tries to make a new "classic" account, it will fail with "Account creation disabled".

There aren't any updated news yet, except download-page have changed to this

Downloads for Classic SETI@home are no longer available.
Instead, please install the new BOINC version of SETI@home.

We turned off the ability to create new SETI@home classic accounts. All new users should download and use the BOINC version of SETI@home instead.

Well, I've only recently gotten back into SETI, and just added another AMD64 PC to the fight a couple of weeks ago. I'm sitting at just shy of 2200 WU's, cranking out 30+ per day, so I figure 3 months and I can hit 5000. It's not as impressive as some tallys around here, but it is a nice round number

I'm pretty sure you should be able to.

And even if that doesn't work, just copy over your user_info.sah.

I know you can, i just did it. As long as it's an already exsisting account, no problem

Is there a command version compatible with BOINC for SETI or am I screwed, I could never get classic to run on the computer I'm using because the graphics driver won't work--so it's stuck at 800x600@16colors; classic requires 256 colors

yes. you can isntall it as a service. seti does not even need graphics anymore.

The CLI doesn't AFAIK
