My brothers friend was over and kicked my 700 dollar gaming pc's face off, the faceplate, on the case. Was no biggie, wanted a new case anyway, but i never ended up getting a new case, so i was just going to leave it as is, until i oculd upgrade it. So one day i went to start it up and nothing, the buttons on the faceplate wouldnt turn it on, so now i am trying to get it to run, ive checked all wires, bypassed ppower switch by touching the power button pins, and i the led on my motherboard is on, so it has power, it just wont start up. I dont know what to do, to get it running again.

Thanks

A LED on the motherboard doesn't necessarily mean it's powered on. I'm not so sure you shorted the correct pins. Use a flat-head screwdriver or even a PCI backplate to short out the two power switch pins to attempt to start it up.

If that works, the power switch on the front of the case is most likely broken. You could use the reset for the case if it's still working as your power switch.

If you're sure your hitting the right pins, then it could be the power supply or motherboard. It's more likely just the switch based on your info.

Took the thoughts out of my head. :)

You have a very nice friend for kick the **** out of your Rig.

Dude with that kinda impact, if the PC was on when he kicked it, I bet the hard drives physically broke... Everything else on the PC should be good. gg and gb :whiste:

Got it working, he broke the usb ports in the front causing them to ground the motherboard.

Either way I'd still try to get some money out of him for breaking it, but was it intentional or was he just goofing off when he kicked it?

Hard drive could be the issue here; and especially if your computer was one when the "little" accident happen.
I don't really think you can change it but you can change friends/brothers etc with a littl mafia :p
