accidentally wiped downloads folder clean

ok. so i have windows xp sp2. i use object dock. i went and right clicked on my downloads folder and selected delete, wanting to delete the icon, not the 56 gb of stuff i deleted before i could press cancel. my recycle bin is set to automatically trash everything, so to my knowledge my stuff is gone. this is my friends user name that he lent me, saying if people couldn't help me here, it's prolly not retrievable. so any and all suggestions on how to retrieve my stuff would be greatly appreciated. you can post here, or e-mail me at toronto_prankster07@yahoo.ca thanks for taking the time to read this
