I accidentally rubbed the right side of my car up against a wood wall. How can I get the paint off without ruining the paint underneath?

Any tips?

Claybar will most likely not remove the paint scuffs.

You will need to use a rubbing compound followed by a polishing compound, depending on how deep the scuffs are.

You should post this on Autopia.

good ole No.7 works wonders. i would use a cleaner first, just to see exactly where youre needing to refinish.

I'll give it a shot with soap and water to clean it up. I was wondering if Goo Gone was a good idea...a search engine result mentioned I should try Goo Gone. Won't that take off my clear coat?

Otherwise, I will go for the Turtle Wax.

I had this 3M product in my car that did wonders on my Civic when I got rear ended by a Yellow cab. His paint was all over my bumper, but no dent's and no real damage.

All I did was apply it and it rubbed right off. I forget the product name though.
