Used the camera's built-in format function. I thought I had backed up the pics but they were on the card in two different folders; I only saved one.

Best way to undelete?

Is that for Linux only?

You can boot to the cd/usb in the first link, and work with the image you created from there. You can also use that cd to create the image using Clonezilla. Again, you want to read the documentation first so bad mistakes don't happen.

PhotoRec doesn't recognize the camera when it's plugged in via USB. Unfortunately I don't have any discrete SDHC readers.

USB Image Tool doesn't see the camera either.

Right now the camera is plugged in and accessible via Windows Explorer.

If you boot into PartedMagic, the camera doesn't show up in file manager? If not, I'm out of tricks aside from consulting the Great Google :^/

If the camera is using PTP instead of presenting the card as USB storage you're probably out of luck with recovery. A discrete reader is your best option by far.

I'm not sure it'll work without a reader, but I've used RescuePRO in the past and it worked great. Nearly every pic was saved from a corrupt CF card, with only a handful of pics distorted after recovery (out of about 350). The free demo will show you if it can recover anything/what it can recover.

Just throwing a positive experience out there if your other options fail.

You can easily restore files with any recovering software, make sure not to write anything on that card and you restore most of lost data.

RescuePro from Sandisk (you can google for it) is what I have used in the past and it did the job.
