Accidentally formatted 3tb as MBR, still 2047GB after convert to GPT

Subject says it all... I assume I need to somehow "uninitialize" the disk to increase the sectors?

I used DISKPART (clean, convert gpt) to convert, but it's still saying "unallocated" 2047.88 GB

It looks like it might work but just crashes instead of running. I have Win 7 64-bit Ultimate.

I assume the issue is that I accidentally formatted as MBR first and it changed the drive.

EDIT: I guess there wasn't an inherent problem. I swapped the drive to the mobo SATA controller, and diskmanager showed an extra ~700GB so I deleted and re-created the partition to 3tb. Then swapping it back to the LSI 3442E-R sas controller made it finally show up with 3tb. Weird that the sas controller couldn't see it until it was partitioned correctly, but it seems to work.

My advice, however, is to always initialize 2tb+ drives as GPT in the first place;)
