Accident and road rage on the NJ Turnpike

Coming back from the Yankee game I was driving southbound in the left lane of the truck lanes on the NJ turnpike. The Ahole in front of me (Ahole #1) won't go faster than 60 mph in a 65 zone. Although it's not visable in the diagram, the middle and right lanes were packed solid, so I couldn't pass the guy. Out of the corner of my eye I see a grey SUV swerve across 3 lanes of the car lanes at high speed and slam into the concrete divider that divides the truck lanes from the car lanes. I quickly hit my brakes, fearing that the SUV would flip over the divider. The Ahole behind me (Ahole #2), who was tailgating me for the last 3 miles, blares his horn and gives me the finger. I mean, WTF? Can I try to save my life without the obscene gestures? Road rage fun ensues for the next 5 miles.

Truck lanes are for cars, buses and trucks. Car lanes are for cars only. Cars are allowed to drive inthe truck lanes.

But it is the NJ Turnpike...

aholes dont care if a guy on the other side slams into the divider. they dont care if there is a chance he will flip over it. unless that car actually did flip over the divider, and hit the top of your car, they dont think that you have any reason to hit your breaks. and if it did happen, they would only care because it inconveniences them.

Truck lanes are for cars, busses and trucks. Car lanes are for cars only. Cars are allowed to drive inthe truck lanes.

still confused...looks like the grey suv swerved through 3 car lanes not truck lanes. meh i'm probably just being retarded or being a nazi about the diagram

I drive the Turnpike to work everyday (From exit 7A down to exit 3), and I think that excpet for a few bad apples, the turnpike gets a bad rap.

I just drove from exit 15e to exit 4 today, doing 85 the whole wayyyyy, sometimes the turnpike isn't so bad. Truck lane > car lane.

I drive to the Passiac area (Route 3) about once every two weeks. I drive to Newark airport too pretty often.

I saw this car on the turnpike that hit a tree probably because the person fell asleep on the wheel. 60-70 mph + sleep + tree = wake-up call. That will teach the guy to sleep while driving!

Rubbernecking? The accident was HAPPENING at the time. I wasn't stopping to look by jamming on my brakes.

The turnpike? The one where the speed limit is oh so slow that it doesn't make sense and the police are even trying to get it up?

I tend to avoid that like the plague.
