accessing win2k drive in win98se

When I try to access a shared drive with Windows98, it prompts me with a dialog requesting a password. The 'resource' is "\\computer2\IPC$" I don't have a password that I know of for this drive. Does it want my Windows login password? I don't think it works either. The Win2k systems can access it just fine.

Do you have the guest account enabled on the w2k computer? If not, go to control panel -> admin tools -> computer management -> users -> properties of guest account and then enable the account.

You can create a new account on the Win2k box with as username the name of the Win98 PC. Then when you try to access the Win2k box, you'll be asked for a password, which is the password for that account.
