I have w2k and winME. I wish to use programs installed under win2k when I run ME.
I heard you can just add a line in the registry to do this so that you don't have to reinstall all the programs again!

Thanks!!

If you have the programs on a seperate HD just install the program to the same directory under each OS..

I don't think that's the solution that he's looking for. I'm also curious. There should be a method that allows you to simply *register* the program in your second OS so that rather than installing programs once for each OS, both can run the same program from the same directory. Anyone know?

Thanks!

Well esentially, what you would need to do is duplicate the registry entries of the application from W2K in WinME. This might involve just copying a single tree. But, more often than not, applications make entires into the regitry in multiple places, so the only way that I know of to get a correctly working version of the program in 2 OS' is to re-install them in both OS' into the same location. Seeing as you aren't necessarily taking up any more space with the 2nd install, it makes perfect sense to allow it's install program to do what it needs..Regards
