Hi People

I have a DSL connection @ home and would like to be able to control my pc from work!

I know programs like PC Anywhere are ideal for this BUT I think my works Servers Firewalls stop any activity like this!!! (Can't even use MSN Messenger!)

I think the IDEAL situation would be if I could leave my PC running as a Web Server :)confused;) and then access it like a web site from my work PC...this is possible? Are there any great little programs that'll do it for me? OR am I going to have to learn JAVA + HTML asnd code this baby myself???

THANKS IN ADVANCE!!!

I've used VNC and Radmin for that same thing, I didn't have blocked access though. You could try some other things and see if you are totally blocked with only allowing email and web access to get through or if the net admins there are only blocking instant messangers.

I found the link :"Maintain your own webserver at home or office on your DSL or Cable connection. " to be mainly for hosting my own website!

I really need to control a PC remotely from a web site!

Daniel what exactly is VNC and Radmin ??? are they effectively PC anywhere via WEB (HTML???)....and is blocked access where my work stop me using MSN messenger?

You could have a couple different things for the firewall... they could be blocking MSN specifically, but probably not, only way to find out is to try things. VNC is a good remote control program in the style of pc anywhere, either works with it's own viewer or with a special web browsing mode that's built into the server.

go here to get it http://www.uk.research.att.com/vnc/

BUT I connected to DSL from DSL and it was only ustilising 3bit of about 500bits of bandwidth...any ideas on how to up it a bit?

Thanks

Try Netmeeting from Microsoft. I used it a lot to trouble shoot people's computer via the Internet.
