Accessing Files on XP from Windows 7

was going through all kinds of hell trying to find the answer to this one. I have a base computer (the one in my sig) that holds my files. As you can see I have both Windows 7 and XP on each with extra partition or hdd for data storage. was having some major issues networking but believe it to be a hardware issue, so booted into xp and tried to share the files from the windows 7 data drive to the media pc downstairs. but I can't find out why files created with windows 7 are not accessable with xp. can anyone one explain why this is and is it fixable?

In order to satisfy security in Win 7, you need to explicitly authorize sharing on the drives in question. In Win 7 you also need to specify permissions for the XP system.
