Accessing DVD drive causes random reboots

I put this system together a few months ago and its been running fine with the exception of one issue. Sometimes when I access a disc in my DVD drive the computer just resets itself for no aparent reason. Examples include copying files from the disc to the hard drive or in the middle of installing software/games (very frustrating). I have no idea what's causing it and it doesn't seem to happen all the time. Thought maybe it was the discs I was using in each particular case but it just seems that sometimes it'll work and others it'll reset (even using the same disc for testing!!) Very hit and miss and VERY annoying!!! I have the latest drivers from the Plextor site but the issue keeps re-surfacing (at a guess probably about 1 in every 20 times I access a disc).
Specs are in my sig. ANY help at all is greatly appreciated.

Try using a SATA-IDE bridge, and see if you can get the drive working ok that way.
That will narrow down the problem considerably.
