I used to have a blank admin passowrd on my win2kserver file/web/net sharing server, but recently a bunch of people said I was crazy to do that, so now I put a password on it, but now when I try to access shares on it, I'm prompted for a username and password to log on. Isn't there a way that I can have a password protected admin account there for security, but still be able to easily access the shares from my lan?

You need to setup accounts for all the machines. It's hard to describe. This would be a 3 machine scenerio...

Machine #1 has an admin acount, a Machine #2 account, and a machine #3 account.
Machine #2 has an admin acount, a Machine #1 account, and a machine #3 account.
Machine #3 has an admin acount, a Machine #1 account, and a machine #2 account.

Got it? Each machine has to have an access acount from the other machine with matching names and passwords.

I'm also assuming this is for your home.
