Access to folders that require a password

Ok, I was having a lot of trouble getting my old computer to boot up, I just could not figure out what was wrong with it.

Well after trying every component, I finally figured out that my HD was causing the problem. When Windows goes to load off the hard drive, the screen comes up about safe mode, normal, last good configuration. And no matter what I choose the system just reboots. So, I then decide to try and at least get my files off of the computer.

I set my 'bad' HD as a slave in another computer and then booted the computer up. I am able to get onto my harddrive and copy files off. However, the folder I really need to get to, the folder associated with my user name when you log on windows, says that access is denied. Is there anyway for me to get into this folder?

Thanks in advance.

NTFS file system? If so, you should just be able to go to its Properties, Security tab, and give yourself permissions/ownership to access it.
Depending on how Windows XP is set up on the other PC, you might have to do Tools>Folder Options>View>uncheck 'Use Simple File Sharing' at the bottom.
You need to have Administrator access on the PC you're copying to for that.
Also, if the files are encrypted for some reason (probably would show up in green text then), there's not much you can do.

If it's not NTFS/WinXP, you can safely disregard my whole post... heh.
