Access question -- importing XLS files...

I've got an excel spreadsheet with ~3000 entries that I need to import into Access. One of the columns is a number column, with a set # of digits (7 digits). Some of the numbers, however, start with a 0...like 0123456. When I import the data in access, it truncates those #s to 123456. Is it possible to get access to import the data "as is"?
