Hi, I'm newbie in networking, so pardon me in advance. .... :)

I would like to connect my wi-fi notebook to DSL (like doing it on ordinary cable LAN) through accesspoint, that is connected to hub and hub is then connected to DSL modem.

PPPOE connection through the hub Works like a charm using cable, but it stucks (no error, just doesn't work) when I wan't to connect through access point.

facts:

- Notebooks wi-fi successfuly found and got connected to WLAN network
- I don't know how to make DSL connection not trying to connect through cable LAN, but using set up WLAN

Thanks guys.

Even if my question is kind of dumb, I owe you a beer.

Just because your can "see" and "connect? to the WLAN does not mean that you will be able to get out to the internet. Even if the unit was just powered on with no connection to a cable modem or any other gateway/route to the internet you could still see the broadcasted SSID and connect to it.

Do an ipconfig /all on you laptop running the wireless connection.

What make/model access point is it?

Have you tried a crossover cable from the hub to the AP?

Have you tried removing the hub and testing with the modem directly connected to the AP?

Have you cycled the modem after you connected the AP?

Just a few things to try... Get back to us and we can get a better idea once you answer those questions above.

Also is it really a "hub" or is it a "switch" that the connection from the modem is going into?
