ACCESS MY UNCLE COMPUTER FROM MY HOUSE

I haven't used UltraVNC in forever, but I do remember it came with a Viewer and the actual software itself. The VNC software would have to be installed on your grandpas PC and the viewer on yours. However, I believe UltraVNC supports the use of just a web browser as opposed to the viewer, but I could be wrong.

This looks interesting as well:

UltraVnc looks nice, I'll have to try it. Tightvnc and realvnc don't have file transfer and I didn't realize a free vnc version was available that did.

Live Mesh is worth a look. Yes, both computers will need Mesh installed to work but it is free.

A note (or warning?): the Wave 4 update should be integrating some of the features from Mesh to Live, I believe. Live Mesh can also be a pain to install on Vista-based PCs. It's good stuff though, creamy and delishous.

go to logmein.com. get the free version on his machine. piece of cake, i use that for my parents computer all the time, its wonderful.

It has a host of other features as well. You can specify server port and connect to multiple computers on a lan by port number. I use it daily to do remote work.

UltraVNC is pretty good for free software. If you're behind a firewall or router it may take a little more work due to getting the ports forwarded but still fairly simple. I even have a VNC client on my iPhone (free version, no ctrl-alt-dlt).

MSN Live Messengers Desktop Share is pretty easy and every PC has Messenger installed. I tend to use that with people as it's stock Windows software and requires zero knowledge of computers for them to make it work.
