GOt an email with a small mpg.

Saved the MPG into my folder where I usually save them. When I try to play (using Media player) I get an error (ACCESS DENIED)

Click on more and it says - The file is in use
This file is currently in use. Close the file, and then try to perform the desired action again.

SO I closed the media player and restarted!

STILL THE SAME THING!

SO I figured SCREW IT AND I tried to delete it

THEN I GET THIS ERROR! Access Denied PLease make sure the disk is not full or Write protected and the file is not in use!

HUH? THe only thing open is the directory that this file resides in!

I am stick with this damn file for ever?

I can't delete, move or rename!

It isn't green (showing it's incrypted!)

It's just there!

Ran I virus scan and found 2 viruses (BUT IN other direcories)

WHAT THE HELL?

AM I stuck with this forever (OR UNTIL I RELOAD WINDOWS)?

Maybe the virus copied the file to another location and is playing it in the background (without displaying) ... :Q Weird!

Does the file show up in your task manager under processes? Look for anything out of the ordinary in there. Also, get yourself System Mechanic and use the "windows start up manager" to get rid of whatever reg entries are starting it up when you reboot.

you type this in your DOS prompt:
format c:
then press y

That fixes everything. :D

You have to identify the virus first.
Using a norton av boot disk would help.
Hit SARC and check the reports on this new development.

To start with, set your computer up to show ALL file extensions. This way you will be able to see if something is indeed .mpg, or instead .vbs, .exe, .com, or another possible virus. Get a good virusscanner as well.
