I'm running XP Pro. On my 2nd hard disk is also XP (from a diff. machine). I'm trying to access the user folder under "documents and settings" but i'm unable to. I'm trying to save my brother's data and then reformat the HD again.

Is there any way i can access this to copy to data over to my primary HD?

reason the 2nd drive is here is because it boots up saying system files corrupt....

*thanks if u can help* i've been tryin' @ this forever! :-(

What you have to do is to take ownership of the drive / folder with your admin account.

Right click on the drive / folder and select properties and then the security tab. I think there should be an advanced button there and... and... Just play around there and there should be either an ownership tab or something that you can take ownership as "admin".

Sorry I can't be more specific because there is no w2k/xp machine around me right now :disgust:
