NYU is definitely not known for its computer science programs... but its the name that will get you jobs and such.

yeah, what he said.

also, to the OP, congradufuckinglations! For that package (considering how expensive NYU is) I would LEARN to like comp sci.

Just get the degree. Who cares where you get it. As long as it is not University of Nothing, you should be fine.

I agree to an extent.

At larger, more presitigious universities, you have the huge advantage of networking.

Bump^.^. Can i get anymore thoughts on this?

Also, is anyone here a current student or graduate of the CS major at NYU? If so, i would like to know your thoughts on the classes and curriculum.

This advice is coming from a software engineer (Comp Sci Major). Don't tie yourself down to just comp sci. I went to a strictly engineering school, but I wish I would have gone to a more well rounded school - things might have turned out differently.

Go to NYU for comp sci - once you take a few classes and find out how it really is, if you change your mind, you'll still have lots of options. There were countless number of people who were in my comp sci major who dropped out because it wasn't what they expected to be like.

lol.. poly still have 12:1 guy/girl ratio? or has it gotten better?

I think its more 25:1 now...and all the girls that ARE there are just plain nasty looking....blech.
