acceptable temperature for Seagate laptop drive

The Seagate diagnostics is saying drive temperature of Seagate drive model ST9160823ASG is 40c, which is being ran in a Dell Inspiron model 1525.

Is that an acceptable/normal temperature for this drive ?

Yes. Seagate specs cite HDD operating range as 0 to 60C.

I am currently in the process of running SeaTools for DOS diagnostics on this hard drive.

It has found 1 error. Is currently at about the 70% mark.

I have not gotten to the end so that I might see what details it might give on this error.

How critical are errors found on hard drive during the SeaTools diagnostics ?

Can just 1 error make a drive unacceptable for reliable running of operating system, etc. ?

That really depends on the nature of the error. If you can correct it by running CHKDSK, it could be a non-issue.
