What is the acceptable temperature range for the Barton 2500? It is on a ASUS A7N8X Deluxe and is being cooled by a Thermaltake Volcano 9.

I looked all over the AMD site and could not locate. I just know one of who has a link or the numbers on hand.

Thanks!

bartons run hot. something in the low 40's would be good at idle. upper 40's or very low 50's under full load is fine

AMD specs say it's good up to 85C. Most people don't like to see it over 60 though. Keep in mind, if you aren't sure if you're reading the thermal diode temp and not the socket temp, then you're not reading the thermal diode, and the thermal diode tells you how hot the core actually is, and it's usually at least 5 C over the temp reading the socket gives. For example, my diode reading says 49C right now while running SETI@Home, and the socket temp says 43.

We were reading it from the BIOS. The box is over at a friends so I can't post the temps right now, should have them in the morning. I thought they were around 60 and I thought that was kinda high.

But are they ballpark temps? What is the best temp monitor? I was thinking of picking one up.
