Accelero Xtreme IV for Sapphire 7870 Ghz

My Sapphire's Dual-X fans are dying and being not in China / US, getting the real replacement fans is kinda pricey. So much so that I've decided to look at custom coolers instead.

At the moment I'm looking at the Xtreme IV. While it is rather overpowered for a 7870 the price difference to the Accelero Twin Turbo is pretty small. I am concerned with how large the cooler is however. The Arctic Accelero Twin Turbo III is also an option but since it is only 7 euro cheaper, I'd rather go with the biggest baddest one if its feasible.

Therefore if anyone here has some experience with the Xtreme IV maybe they could share their experience with the installation and overall impression of the cooler. More importantly, some ball park estimation as to whether it would even fit my case (picture attached) would be most welcome.

How much does that cooler run you in your country? It's $90 US on Newegg.com.

I don't think it makes sense to spend that much money on a cooler for a 7870. You can buy a used 280 or 280X for a few dollars more right now... avoid Sapphire if you value working fans.

EDIT: In addition, I don't think the Extreme IV will fit in your case. For the cheapest solution, remove the shroud and ziptie a couple of 92mm fans to the heatsink.
 
not worth the cost. Is the card not under warranty? Have them replace it and sell it. Put that with your $90 and buy a new card.
 
Looked up the DualX 7870 and it looks like a non-reference card... Who knows if any aftermarket cooler will even fit. I was about to suggest the Gelid Icy Vision as it would be smaller than the Accelero Xtreme, but never mind that.

I guess if you can't get it replaced, remove the plastic shroud and fans and strap on a fan, or get a used card...
 
Those pair of fans are available on Ebay, direct shipped from China, for $20US (about 16Eu (and that includes shipping for the pair).
Is your VAT so high that that is unreasonable?
 
Its just that I thought something as tiny as that shouldnt cost more than 10 bucks or so. If I were to spend 20 euro for it, I thought I might as well spend twice as much and get a much much better cooler.

Guess I will give up the Xtreme IV for either the Twin Turbo III or whatever fans I can find locally.
 
you could actually almost buy another used 7870 for that price. anyway, i'd consider the accelero mono plus.
