I took some time today to install an Accelero S1 on my BfG 7900GS OC and do some testing.
All GPU temperatures were recorded using RivaTuner v2.06. The GPU was loaded using both ATITool v0.26 and RTHDribl v1.2. I also noted the GPU temperature after a round of Battlefield 2.
Stock Cooler

Idle: 58c
Load: 85c
Gaming: 64c
Accerlo S1 (passive)

Idle: 49c
Load: 63c

I prepared the card by removing the stock HSF and cleaning the GPU/memory modules with 99% isopropyl alchohol. My 7900GS did not feature any factory cooling on the memory modules so there was no thermal compound to remove from those components. The heatsinks included with the S1 mounted without issue and the pre-applied thermal tape appears to be doing it's job.
As for installation, there is plenty of room for the S1 in the Cooler Master 690, provided the stock side-panel fan is removed from the lower position. I'm curious if a 120x20mm would fit but I think a 120x15mm would be ideal... not that I can find such a thing. The only fans installed in the case are the stock front/rear 120mm fans. While these fans are silent, they don't move much air. So, not a lot of airflow is required to use the S1 passively.
Needless to say, i'm quite happy with the S1 (bought on sale for $25 @ NCIX). Installation was a breeze, the S1 is performing admirably in passive mode and my PC is much quieter.
