MARYLAND ACC CHAMPS!!!

Wasn't this Gary Williams first ACC title? Kind of weird that he had a National Title, but not an ACC Tournament title.

I thought I had seen it all, but you have certainly suprised me. Did you forget what you said? "because the Dukies are the master's of the flop". Too bad you completely wrong. If they had been the masters of the flop, the Maryland game would've been different. You know why a lot of those people in the bars agree with you? They don't like Duke WHOOAA! Amazing!

Face it, you don't like Duke, just like the rest of those guys who agree with you, so you whine. Face it, Duke is still gonna go further in the Tournament than any other ACC team, and not cause of calls that went their way.

Oh, and you don't even live in North Carolina, so your opinion means even less. UVA? Give me a break. Go back to Syracuse.

Jeez buddy, are you always this confrontational? First you call me blind and deaf. Now I apparently can't have an opinion because I don't live in North Carolina? UVA? I don't like Duke? Would you like to make any more assumptions about me?

I did say "because the Dukies are the master's of the flop" and I also said "Blocking fouls actually being called against Duke when they are usually BS charges" implying that for once, Duke did not get all the calls. There were at least half a dozen occasions in the Maryland that Ewing, Redick, or Duhon went for the charge and I was amazed the refs actually called blocks on them because they had not established defensive position. However, they are very good at selling it and making it look like they had position the way they are able to slide in and fall straight back. If anything, this rant really isn't about Duke, it's the frequency of BS charges that are called in games these days. A guy can be airborne and if a defender slides underneath him, he can draw the charge. Or as Duke does so well, they can get guy to bump them in a way to make it look like a charge but when they show the slo mo reply, it's clearly a block. The college game needs to establish the circle around under the basket like the NBA does.

I think Duke is a fine team..one of the best in the country. But for whatever reason Duke especially in the Shane Battier era got more charge calls than any other team I've ever seen and it's continued since then. If that guy got touched, he'd fall over and bam, charge call. 5-6 years ago, charges weren't called nearly as much and is called way too much these days. In case you didn't realize, Duke basketball is televised all the time on the East coast so even though I don't live in NC, it's very easy to catch a Duke game. As I mentioned, I'm in the Big East so when I'm watching ACC ball, I'm rather impartial when watching those games.

Anyways, I'm done. These are just my opinions and observations when I watch Duke basketball. I don't care if you agree with them but there's no need to get all over my case about it. It's an open forum.

Also to go along with the thread, I really hope your Terps get to play Syracuse in the second round. Should make for an awesome game. I think if either team plays to their potential, either one can make a run through the bracket to San Antonio. :)
