Yep, I was on ap the first semester in college. :( I've pulled my grades up significantly since then.

Been there, done that. No big deal unless you make it so. You should believe it's temporary, because it is if you get smart and sign up for less units, easier classes, etc. If you're in such a situation, you overestimated your ability to adapt to the college/university setting and you just have to learn from the experience.

Almost got on it but managed to avoid it. I've known lots of people on it though. Its kind of a wake up call...just buck up and get the grades you need next time :)

I think I may have indirectly contributed to my former roomate getting kicked out of college. Here's how.

First semester, he did badly, got a zero in his chemistry course cause he violated the academic dishonesty policy by using a graphing calculator (which is a no no in Chem 1), and got put on academic probation. You have to get above a 2.0 to stay in the college your next semester. Well, the next semester, we both had Chem 2 at the same time, 9am M-W-F. Well, about midterm, I decided I had enough of the 9am lecture, so I stopped going, and started attending my profs later lecture. Except that one conflicted with another of my roomates classes. In the mornings, when I didn't get up, he didn't get up. So he missed HALF a semester of chem2 (except for the exam days, cause I still had to take them in the morning). I'm not sure he bothered to take the final. He was also failing his math course, and I don't think he stayed for the final. Last I heard, he wasn't coming back.

I kind of feel partly responsible, but then again, I'm not is mommy, he can haul his own ass out of bed.

He was a disgusting, closet porno addict anyway.

Indirectly you definitely contributed to that - but like you said you're not his mommy. You should be held abosultely 0% responsible for that. You were merely the straw and he was the overloaded camel.

Its like if all your friends want to do is drink all the time and that keeps you from studying: unless they are forcing the beer into you its an explanation but not an excuse. Don't worry about it...

For one semester, then I brought my GPA up....my roomate was supposed to get kicked out a couple times, but his mom is freinds with one of the deans, and she likes to scream a lot, so he keeps getting breaks....he's pulling a <1.o GPA....what a loser...
