So I have recently posted up a thread havingi ssues with slow loading times...that was fixed. Now I am having a consistant issue with my audio drivers. I will try my best to explain this and I will indulge as much info as I know on the system specs(first build ~5 years old):

Windows XP Service pack 3
ATI Radeon x850 256mb Grafx
2gb memory
2.8ghz intel HT processor
5.1 Logitech surround sound
Sata Hard-drive 160gb
Asus P4C800-E Deluxe Motherboard

Now....before I never had an issue with installing the audio stuff but for some reason it is no longer cooperating. I have the card plugged in and snug into the PCI port. I took my motherboard cd and installed the SoundMAX Audio Driver & Software crap thatwas on it - no sound. I then took my xfi cd and tried to install the xfi sound card - detects no device on the system. I know for a fact this card is installed. Within the past 3-4 days I reinstalled windows at least 4 times because this issue has left me stumped and my entire system was unorganized...OCD got the best of me.

Everest hardware identifier info:

Audio:

Device Description Type
Intel 82801EB ICH5 - AC'97 Audio Controller [A-2/A-3] PCI

I have downloaded the realtek driver from the actual website itself and it got ~85% then my entire computer crashed. This was the first time that my system blue screened from this. I loaded it up, blue screened and gave me options of what to do if the screen came up for the 3rd time. Restarted...loaded into safe mode...system restored. Here I am now. I have tried everything possible from searching online and I simply cannot locate a fix. In my Device manager under "OTHER DEVICES" I do have "Multimedia Audio Controller" listed. Under the [/b]Sound, Video and Game controllers[/b] section I do have Audio Codecs listed. I will include a dxdiag text file and as you can already tell it displays no drivers detected. I have no idea where to begin on this issue

I would GREATLY appreciate ANYONE who could help me out with this. I have been trying to get this computer going for some music composing but it is just killing my brain. I am at a loss right now of what to do.

If you are trying to use your X-Fi card, have you gone into the BIOS and disabled the onboard audio? Everest seems to point out that is what the system is seeing, not your creative card.
