AC unit prices?

Anyone know the general ballpark figures for an AC unit? The ones that go outside for central air? What are some good brands?

Anywhere from $1500 to multiple thousands. Really depends on size needed and brand. Plus you are peak season so you'll pay more for parts and labor.

For brands...Trane and Lennox are the big ones.

I'm getting a 3.5 ton R-410A Trane air handler and heat pump installed for $4,800 next month. My existing duct work was properly sized. There are other things to consider so it may cost a little more.
