When running my AC it gets cool but not cold. after about 30 minutes of use the air starts to come out warm. it does that for about 5 minutes then will start to be cool again for 5-10 minutes.

any ideas? low on freon? a leak?

low on freon most likely, evap freezes up, thaws out and starts all over again..

ok. been looking up at how to refill it. seems everything i read people recommend taking it in. teh cans are hit or miss and will sometimes over fill the AC

I have messed with a bunch of the kits, including hi/low gauges, and have gotten MUCH better results with bringing it in to a pro a/c guy.

ok. think thats what i will do then. NO way in hell am i going the summer without AC!

Yeah summer with no ac sucks.

Have a pro do it, they will have a vacuum pump to take out all the old freon/rf134a etc and charge it to the proper level.

A lot of the newer coolants have some leak fixing compound in them to fix tiny leaks, so you should be ok as long as there are no big holes.

That reminds me I need to recharge mine.
