Recently I've had issues with the AC in my Mazda 6. The following symptoms are occurring:

1. Air blows as expected, but no cold air
2. Car makes a whining sound when the AC is turned on
3. Car appears to have power loss when AC is engaged (struggles to change gears)
4. AC Fan speed appears to increase/decrease when driving

Thoughts?

you're either low or out of refrigerant. The whining sound comes from the A/C compressor running on low or no refrigerant. A/C compressors take a lot of power from the engine so that's why you notice a power loss when the A/C is on. The variation in fan speed could mean that the alternator is too weak or you have automatic climate control.
