Mom took her 2002 grand caravan to iffy lube to get her ac charged a month or so ago....they said they tried to recharge it but it must have a leak as it blows hot still......:roll eyes:

So come to find out by accident they did actually charge it ( once I turned the temp dial to red / hot setting ) but now you have to turn the temp dial to red for cold ac and now there is no heat what so ever on either end of the temp dial range....:\

Well still no idea on the temp deal but still no heat either way ....😕

Just flushed out the coolant system and replaced thermostat.....heatercore next ?

I doubt its the heater core. I'd check the valve for the heater first.

Is it a manual or automatic climate control?

Check the heater control valve (they are usually vacuum or cable operated) and are located on the heater hose going to the firewall. Also burp the heater hoses.

Had two Chrysler mini vans and both would lose heat if the coolant level dropped. Air in the line stops flow to the heater core.

Will go check that out, thanks red..

edit : everything looks good in that respect...

Sounds like the blend door controls are borked.
Not sure where to point you beyond that though.

Blend door - yes...

With the engine running, if you move the vent controls or temp controls back and forth, do you hear anything happening under the dash? Sometimes they are vacuum controlled too, and the rubber hose that connects vacuum to the firewall (and ultimately the blend door) is dry rotted, or disconnected. I have a Pontiac that had bad motor mounts - on a hard acceleration the engine would move enough to pull the vacuum line loose from the firewall and I would lose vent controls.

All the venting seems fine on all different settings, can hear doors open / close,etc...

Well me and the boys have come to think it is the actual climate control panel itself so checking yards for a used one to try.

Mine were early 90s so they were all cable or vacuum operated - no fancy electronics. But you are right, the boards can go out.

Well just replaced the panel and still no heat .....😕

mmntech....really cannot afford to pay someone $60-$80 / hour to trouble shoot.

This is a real mind bender....I guess time to pull the heater core and see if it is plugged ?

You can remove the heater hoses from the core and see if you can blow air through it...

And start the engine, remove one of the hoses an see if you have flow. Engine warm, not too hot of course.
