Whenever the compressor on the air conditioner in my room kicks in, I lose signal on about half of the channels on my satellite receiver. As soon as it kicks off, or if i power off the AC, everything comes back. I've tried using every outlet available in my room, but no difference. I'm assuming that a UPS would fix it, since it would prevent what I assume are voltage spikes, but how good of a UPS would i need? (ie, would any UPS work?)
I've also run across this:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/...x?Item=N82E16842107125
Would that do the job?
Other notes:
My receiver is the only one in the house that has this problem, and the only difference I know of is that I had to make the dish-to-receiver cable myself, and used the twist on coax ends instead of the kind the installer used for the others. Don't know what difference that might make, but thought I'd point it out.
Thanks
