AC adapter gets too hot, normal?

I have an HP zt3000 notebook, its ac adapter gets really hot if I leave the adapter plug into a power socket, is this normal or should I ask for a replacement.

The question: "How hot does it get?" begs to be asked.

My various laptop AC adapters get warm, but not hot.

When its hot.... can you comfortably hold it for 15 secs?

Is yes, relax. If not, call HP and have them replace it.

Also, did it always get so hot, even when new? or is a recent increase in temperature...
