AC adapter for a digital camera

Wow, there's a forum for this now... excellent! Took me a while to find, though, because I had a post locked without an explanation in OT.

I want to buy an AC adapter for my Minolta Dimage5 digicam. The only spec I can seem to find on it is that it's 6V. Will it be okay if I just buy a 6V, 1.8A adapter from radio shack? I'm assuming 1.8A is enough current... it's quite a bit.

Thanks for weighing in.

make sure you get the right plug and check the polarity before you plug it in. Other than that, 1.8A is a bit of overkill. You could just pick up a third party battery and use the original charger no? Just make sure you get the same plug as the one from Minolta.
