hello!
I have a question concerning the sound codec used in alot of motherboards, the ac`97 codec. Using the newest drivers, I have been unable to get my 5 speaker (2 front, 2 rear, 1 sub) setup to work. Even with the outputs set as 'Rear Speakers' and 'Front Speakers' I can only get my 2 front and sub to work. Has anyone else ever had a problem with this? Is there some trick I do not know? I know onboard sound (other than nforce2) is shotty, but it is advertised as being able to handle a 5.1 speaker setup. Perhaps the actual jack on my motherboard, Asus A7V8X, is screwed.
Thanks!
