AC 7 Pro vs CM TX2

I will be setting up a system with a Q6600. Will not overclock at first. Maybe just a little eventually. I am not going to push it to extremes and am not sure how a super huge cooler will fit in my case (P150) or affect airflow.

So my goal is to find a cooler that will do a little better than stock for temps, that will be a little bit quieter than stock, won't be huge and will be fairly easy to install.

I have narrowed the search to the Artic Cooling 7 Pro or Cooler Master Hyper TX2. As I think they both will perform similarly.

Some reviews on newegg seem to say the AC 7 Pro is not built well and may fall apart upon installation.

Does anyone have any preference to one over the other or any major pro or con with either?

I've had both and I prefer the TX2. The TX2 is quieter and cools better...plus with the rebates going on at NewEgg & SVC it's the easy winner.

I have both of those heatsinks......and many more...
Personally there was not that much of a difference in the 2 heatsinks...
I would give the edge to the AC 7 Pro.

I was considering the Freezer 7 and the CM TX2 before I realized they both use plastic push pins intstead of a backing plate and screws. So I'm now thinking this Masscool is the answer, based on the same heat-pipe technology, and cheaper too. I don't consider the extra effort of installing a backing plate an issue.

What is your opinion?

Thanks

I made a similar thread as you as well egale, but I got little replys. It seems that the TX2 is a pretty good cooler as well.

Do you by any chance live in Canada?
