ac-3 output in sp2

for those of you running sp2
are you able to get ac-3 output thru digital sound card?

are you talking about the SPDIF output? in order to do that you must have a decoder, the only decoder that I know of is Midiland ADS 2000 and that's use for 5.1 with Creative Labs speakers.

yeah i have a decoder
but currently win2k doesn't do ac-3 output

and i hate having to dual boot 98se
supposedly sp2 was supposed to be able to do ac-3 output

There is an unofficial patch to enable AC3 in Win2K... check out ALive for more details.

this seems to be only for creative cards, and i have a phillips ae
