http://news.yahoo.com/sarah-palins-views-abstinence-lead-second-grandchild-215900097.html

In a not so surprising turn-of-events, the news that Sarah's son Track is expecting a baby with his wife Britta was just released Thursday.
Pictures of the new bride posted on Facebook show that she is rather obviously expecting, while her marriage took place just two months ago.
The quick ceremony prompted many to ask whether Britta was pregnant, but supporters of conservative Sarah became extremely upset, continuing to argue that the new couple was not expecting. It certainly seemed like a shot-gun wedding, and today it was finally confirmed that the pregnancy came before the marriage.

So granted they aren't teens but it's obvious they're now rushing into marriage because of a pregnancy. Do any of you actually think that abstinence-only education is legitimate? Why?

Wow, at first I thought you'd just made a troll post but when I got to the end I see that you're really only concerned about views on abstinence education.

Let me see what Limbaugh has to say about it and I'll be back.

What you don't want to make a comment about how I'm harassing poor Sarah Palin and her family who've done nothing to deserve being under scrutiny by the public?

Com'on move past butthurt and tell me why you think absitinence only is even remotely a good idea.

HEY EVERYBODY! THE LEFT IS STILL WORRIED ABOUT PALIN!
That's the answer to your first question.

I don't think abstinence only is a good idea.
There's my response to your challenge.

Stupid is as stupid does.
That's a freebie just for you.

Thank you for your contribution. Do you think Sarah Palin is dumb for advocating abstinence only?

Nice to see them get married to raise the child as he/she should be. A mother and father bound by law and god.

If only urban youths could have such character and conviction. But no, to do so takes away their gubment money.

I think we should teach kids to *#&@ like bunnies. That'd solve any early pregnancy issues we have.

Well if Bristol is any indicator it probably won't work out.

Shall we take bets on how long it'll be until the divorce?

Which has nothing to do with abstinence only sex-ed and everything to do with you own personal prejudices and your craving to have them confirmed.

The right fringe exists on the level of confirmation bias & straight up denial almost exclusively. You just provided a demonstration.

Oh well, oh piffle, the Palin famdamily is now reproducing at an alarming rate, and if trends lines do not abate, the Palin clan will soon have everyone else out numbered.

The Palins are coming the Palins are coming, as I, Lemon Law is a latter day Paul Revere. As I ring the alarm bells, without a horse, bells, or a single whoopie whistle.

anything to distract the public from the ineptitude of mr Bobo.....

Anything to distract the public from the mess created by his predecessor & 30 years of right wing ideology as policy...

The ownership society, government cutting red tape for self regulated bankers & mortgage companies... in the free market global capitalist economy.

What Righties fear the most is that they might have to reconsider what they believe so fervently and blindly to be true, and will employ desperate measures to accomplish that.

It's all Obama's fault! Everything!

Look, there isn't anything wrong with teaching abstinence as long as you ALSO teach that contraception is available. The fact is though, most teens aren't mature enough to handle sex (particularly the girls after the boys chuck them for the next), aren't patient enough to get a new condom if they accidentally unroll it on the wrong way, and can't handle the consequences of getting pregnant.

Kids need to understand that if the 1% unthinkable happens, their life is OVER. O-V-E-R. That it will be a tough road. Education & career delayed, possibly derailed forever. A lifetime of hardship & poverty a possibility. Abstinence is the only way these outcomes, however unlikely, don't happen.

OK but that is not abstinence-only. All sex ed classes teach that abstinence is the only 100% safe way.

It's probably a lot more than 1%, considering 40% of American women have had an abortion

Even programs that emphasize abstinence are counter productive in terms of avoiding unwanted pregnancy-

Dr. Wicklund said she would put more credence in opponents of abortion rights if they did more to help women prevent unwanted pregnancies. Instead, she said, many of the protesters she encounters “are against birth control, period.” That is unfortunate, she said, because her clinic experience confirms studies showing that emphasizing abstinence rather than contraception may cause girls to delay their first sexual experience for a few months, but “when they do have intercourse they are much less likely to protect themselves with birth control or a condom.”

Seemed to work out fine. They are set to raise the baby with plenty of money it seems. Whats the problem? They have a future.
