Absolute lightest and most compact eGPU solution?

I travel and backpack around a lot and weight and luggage space are of great concern. I want to buy a detachable 2-in-1 laptop/tablet hybrid like an HP X2 G2 with Thunderbolt and 4G LTE, but it only has integrated Intel graphics.

I work a lot with video and photo editing, and the CUDA cores on nVidia cards can come in handy in speeding up processing. I'd also like to play games, but that's not really such a huge concern.

I don't need the fastest graphics card and I'd be perfectly happy with a small graphics card but with a good amount of CUDA cores. Right now there doesn't seem to be any detachable 2-in-1 laptops with discrete graphics other than ones with the nVidia MX150, and NONE with both 4G LTE and discrete graphics.

So, is there any kind of enclosure or DIY eGPU solution that would be ultra compact and which does NOT need to support huge power-hungry cards?
